Get ready to rock out for a cause! On Saturday, December 2, 2017, a special benefit concert will be held at The Cutting Room in Midtown Manhattan to support CUCS in its mission to help New Yorkers rise from poverty, exit homelessness and be healthy.
CUCS’ Training Institute has been training professionals in the human service, behavioral health and justice-informed field for years. Their trainings encompass a wide range of topics, including working with the chronically homelessness and best practices in supportive housing, behavioral health, case management and clinical and evidence based practices. One of the most requested trainings is Critical Time Intervention (CTI) which can be accompanied by Wellness Self Management (WSM) trainings. Both are critical to the work done by professionals in social services.
This past July marked CUCS’ 24th birthday! To celebrate, we created a peer-to-peer fundraising hub that makes it easy and fun to support our cause. We launched our birthday campaign and in the past four months have made incredible progress towards our goal of raising $50,000 by year end to build brighter futures. To celebrate our milestone of being over 65% of the way to our goal, we wanted to highlight our incredible campaigners for making this success possible!
Our Training Institute provides interactive, hands-on training and continuing education credits for professionals on a wide-range of topics, including housing and homelessness, behavioral health, case management, and clinical and evidence-based practices. We sat down with James Kennedy, Assistant Director of Training to get an inside look into the program and discuss his experiences in the field.
Birthdays are a special rite of passage for children. Some of our fondest memories come from birthdays growing up, whether our own or someone else’s we’ve attended. Sadly, many children go without a birthday celebration or present but thanks to The Birthday Party Project (TBPP), that’s quickly changing. Over the summer we began a partnership with TBPP to spread birthday magic to our young residents from the Lenniger and the Sydelle housing programs -- and we couldn't be more excited!
