Exciting things are happening this year! The CUCS Institute and the Network will offer members the opportunity to accumulate the 25 credits needed to complete the Case Management Certificate Program by attending a six-module comprehensive training series designed to offer direct service staff a nuts-to-bolts overview of case management services. Upon completion of all six trainings, licensed social workers who attend will qualify for 25 Continuing Education credits and certification of completion of the entire series.
There have been a lot of exciting changes happening at CUCS. Our agency continues to grow as our services continue to expand and we’re thrilled to be able to reach even more people in need in New York City. One of our expanding services is the Care Management program and we sat down with Adina Barbosa, Deputy Chief Program Officer, to find out more about the program and what these changes mean for our agency and those we serve.
To many of us, summertime brings an abundance of fun: beach outings, summer sports, and more time outdoor to enjoy the warm weather and company of others. Thanks to Whole Foods Market, summer got even more exciting for two of our transitional living programs, Delta Manor and The Kelly. The two programs received donations from local Whole Foods Market stores and what may seem like simple donations became the perfect opportunity for laughter, relaxation and community bonding.
For quite a few people, their chosen career becomes an integral part of who they are and how they see themselves. For others, the barriers to gainful employment become too many and too difficult to overcome without help. But everyday, the Career Network at CUCS provides many clients with encouraging help to overcome their barriers.
