How to Donate Face Masks to CUCS
March 30, 2020

As we strive to help New Yorkers cope with the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, we are doing everything we can to keep our staff and our community safe. We are collecting face mask donations for our frontline staff and the homeless and formerly homeless individuals we serve.

You can save lives by sending your own face masks to us. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about what we’re looking for, how to make masks, and how to get in touch with us about your donation. You can also support our essential work across NYC by donating to our COVID Relief Fund.

What types of masks is CUCS looking for?

Hand-sewn, fabric masks are great. Because fabric is more durable than paper, they are especially helpful for people living on the streets. Here is a great guide from #Masks4Medicine on what types of fabrics work best.

We are also looking for donations of N95 masks and other types of PPE. Please get in touch with us at cucsinfo@cucs.org  if you have anything that you think might be of use.

How do I make fabric face masks?

You are welcome to use whatever patterns or tutorials work best for you. Here are a few resources for how to make fabric masks:
