Free and open to the public, CUCS Benefit Centers provide individuals and families with coordinated access to life-changing resources, enabling them to move up the economic ladder and lead better lives.
Students, veterans, families and community members from all walks of life come to our benefit centers, where counselors are on hand to help them access all available resources.
Our two benefit centers on Rikers Island help ease the transition of incarcerated men and women with wraparound services that pave the way for a more successful reentry into their communities.
Assistance with screening for and applying to various benefits including health insurance, nutrition assistance such as SNAP and WIC, unemployment, rental freeze programs and many more
Legal counseling from the Legal Aid Society around a wide range of civil issues including housing, immigration, family and employment
One-on-one assistance with understanding your credit report, debt reduction, saving for the future, budgeting and identity theft
Assistance in getting connected to various support services including food pantries, mental health counseling, domestic violence support, and substance abuse services
