In our three decades, CUCS has grown tremendously as we continue to expand our efforts to help people rise from poverty, exit homelessness and be healthy. To kick off a new year at CUCS, we sat down with Priscilla Rojas, our Deputy Director of Human Resources. She shares her experiences, having watched our staff grow, and working every day to ensure they are supported as they help people build brighter futures.
Christopher was a surprise and a blessing for Evelyn. But her pregnancy took a toll on her health and she ended up in a wheelchair. When her rent tripled, she moved into a shelter with her newborn son where they would live for the next three years. Then, in January 2016, Evelyn and Christopher moved into their first home ever at CUCS’s Lenniger Residence.
