There is never a dull moment at CUCS! We pride ourselves on seizing every opportunity to help build brighter futures and one of those opportunities came knocking just a short week ago. On Tuesday, January 23rd, our young residents from the Sydelle and Lenniger residences were in for a big surprise – and we still can’t contain our excitement!
The Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) is pleased to announce that Alex Rose has been named Chairman of its Board of Directors. He joined the CUCS Board of Directors in 2014 and was elected Vice-Chair in 2015. Mr. Rose is assuming the helm from Julie Sandorf who served as Board Chair since 2009 and will remain on the board as Vice-Chair.
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the East Harlem Scholars Academy (EHSA) held a service day to teach students how to be dedicated leaders in the community. This year, one of their chosen service activities included assembling welcome kits for people entering CUCS’s transitional housing programs. We’re thankful for their partnership and excited to see it grow!
