Research and Publications

Researchers, academics and other professionals have made great strides in the treatment of mental illness and HIV/AIDS, developing effective strategies for working with chronically homeless, low-income families and other vulnerable groups. Unfortunately, most of these effective practices never make it to real world, or lack the scientific research to demonstrate that specific interventions yield their intended results and many widely-used social service programs are untested and unproven.

To provide access to best practices for the widest audience possible, CUCS publishes articles, guides and books on effective housing and service programs and strategies.  For more information on our publications, click here.

To bridge the gap between science and service, CUCS identifies interventions that have proven effective in controlled settings and customizes them for use in the real world.  In addition, our Research Department works to determine the effectiveness of existing services and identifies and tests the effectiveness of new interventions to better meet the needs of the populations we served.  For more information on CUCS’ research, click here.
