Supporters of CUCS were treated to a rousing performance by Tony and Grammy Award winner
Jennifer Holliday on Monday, June 14th. Giving Green, CUCS' 2010 fundraiser, also honored
former board chair Jack Krauskopf.

Giving Green started off with a cocktail hour attended by approximately 200 guests. Highlights of the event's brief program included introductory remarks by CUCS' Board Chair, Julie Sandorf, and "Randy's Story" a short film documenting how CUCS has helped change the life of one man who had been living on the streets of Harlem for many years.
Following the film, CUCS' Executive Director, Tony Hannigan, offered a moving tribute to former board chair and the night's honoree, Jack Krauskopf.
Jennifer Holliday then took to the stage and wowed the audience with her powerful voice and evident connection with the songs she had chosen to perform. Ms. Holliday told the audience of her own struggles with depression and stressed the importance of CUCS' work with people with mental illness. She closed the evening by treating CUCS' guests to an emotional rendition of her signature song from "Dreamgirls" - "And I Am Telling You, I'm not Going."
The night was a tremendous success and CUCS would like to thank Mega Contracting Inc. for serving as lead sponsor and Jennifer Holliday for sharing her talent to assist CUCS in achieving its mission.
