CUCS Begins Wellness Self Management at Fishkill |

CUCS is excited to announce the kick-off of its Wellness Self Management classes for the mentally ill adults at the Fishkill Correctional Facility. The classes, which began April 21st, represent the first step in a three-year pilot project funded by the Jacob and Valeria Langeloth Foundation in partnership with the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), New York State Department of Correctional Facilities (DOCS) and New York State Department of Parole.

CUCS' 350 TLC featured on WABC Channel 7 |
|
CUCS' 350 Lafayette Street Transitional Living Community (TLC) was recently the subject of a news feature on WABC, Channel 7 New York. Program Director Linda Ricciardi and 350 TLC graduate Michelle Ponist were interviewed and discussed everything from the history of 350 TLC to the program's remarkable success in moving homeless women with mental illness into affordable, permanent housing, usually in four to six months.

CUCS' Career Network Wins National Award |

CUCS' Career Network has been selected as a recipient of the 2008 Science and Service Award from the United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The award recognizes exemplary implementation of evidence-based interventions that have been shown to prevent and/or treat mental illnesses and substance abuse. The Career Network was selected for successfully implementing an evidence-based practice known as Supported Employment at CUCS' supportive housing sites.
