The General Accounting Associate is responsible for, but not limited to, preparing standard journal transactions and entering them into the accounting system; maintaining journal entry files by month for each entity, ensuring the ease of their retrieval as needed; assisting the Director of Finance during the year-end audit; preparing schedules and providing requested files and other documentation as needed; assisting the Director of Finance with tracking of client payments and receipts; preparing daily bank deposits and taking them to the bank; assisting Senior Accountant with monthly bank reconciliations, etc. Salary is low 30'splus excellent benefits. Candidate should have a minimum of an associate (two-year degree) in accounting or equivalent experience in a similar role, working knowledge of GAAP; computer literate with a thorough understanding of accounting systems, spreadsheets and word processing; strong analytical and innovative problem solving abilities; excellent oral and written communication skills; be creative and flexible; show initiative and be responsible for follow through; ability to work independently and as a part of a team; ability to maintain confidential information, as related to position. |

The F/T Disconnected Youth Pre-GED Teacher is responsible for teaching content-based math and literacy skills to young adult (ages16-24) students and assisting in the coordination of the GED program. Duties consist of maintaining attendance and records, completing weekly lesson logs, providing pre-GED classes for between 15-25 students per session, assisting students with their educational and job search needs, providing additional one-on-one tutoring assistance to students in need, attend Adult Education staff development sessions and office meetings, attend a minimum of 20 hours a year of staff development; assist in the development and revision of NMIC's pre-GED curriculum, represent NMIC at a variety of adult education functions, as needed. |
Candidate must have 2(+) ears experience teaching pre-GED. BA/BS required. MA strongly preferred. Teaching experience with teens or youth preferred. |
